A lot of time, we’ve been asked by friends or collagues, or even the elders on how we get satisfaction or how we would feel satisfied. Most of the time, a gamer might tell you that he gain satisfaction from the games he plays. An artist might tell you that he gets satisfaction from his art work and receive compliments from people, or even because of the art work that was bought by the people who admire his talent. From here, you can see that different person get satisfactions in different way.
For me, I gain my satisfaction from my life and my work. Whenever I achieve what I’m tasked for, at my work place, I will get satisfaction for completing the tasks or to have done something better. By helping company generate greater revenue or having a better reputation is also the source of satisfaction. Being appreciated and acknowledge for what you have contributed so far is also considered one of the various sources of satisfactions.
Another source for me is my life. Why the life? The life is a very broad scope to define it as the source of satisfaction. In life, you can get your satisfaction from various sources, such as, by doing voluntary work, enjoying the sports activities that you like, achievements of life, such as getting the first 1 Million in your life? Bought a condominium before you reach 30 years old? There are plenty of them. My way is through helping people, and to give a good life to my future wife and my family members. Besides, to have a life long learning is also where I recharge and upgrade myself to be a better man who can be of better service to other people too! From there, I can also do better at work. Then I can get greater satisfaction too! Haha…
Talking about work. I have completed 98% of the development of the mobile application. I’m left with database and the final testings then I’m done with the project! We’ll be having a demo with other people invited by iDA and Microsoft to showcase our prototype and to promote the adoption of this technology into the government agencies. I hope that by focusing on mobile application development I can achieve something great in my life. Unfortunately, I’m also put in charge of two other .NET 2003 projects too. Tomorrow I will be following my boss down to one of the client’s company. I do not know what’s the purpose for tomorrow meeting. But no harm going down and I can see what I can learn and do there.
Well, I’m thinking that maybe this blog will split into a few catagories soon, at least one of them must be talking about normal topics, the other one focus on technology and work related stuff, etc etc. I don’t know what’s the plan yet. Maybe some of you can enlighten me here
I have taken up a few course now, and I have to complete them on time, moreover I have to finish the project development by this Friday so that the bosses can bring each of the devices back for testings. I will then fine-tune the application before the actual demo day. I’m very excited and I can’t wait to learn more on windows mobile based application development. Well, you will definitely hear more on that soon. Stay tune!

It has been over 3 weeks I’m working in the new company. It’s quite common that companies would not allow their employees to use MSN Messenger in the office. My company is also not different from any of them. Though I was not aware of that, I do found out from the colleagues in the company. I was told MSN Messenger or any other Messenger is forbidden. And I was also told that the reason behind this is the bosses don’t want us to leak out any confidentail information to outsiders. Well, I know it’s lame and stupid, but then we can do nothing about it since we are not allowed to use it. Well, what I want to say is there is always better ways to leak out information if someone really want to do it, there is no way you can stop him/her. I think the main reason would most likely be the bosses don’t want to see that by using MSN Messenger in the office, we become very unproductive and affect company’s performance. Hehe…
Ok, talking about my work, as mentioned earlier, I work there as Analyst Programmer. Sorry that I capitalised the first letter of each word of my job title. I don’t mean to show off or to stress that I’m doing pretty well now. To be honest, this job is not a great position and being an Analyst Programmer is nothing much different from a normal programmer. I also do programming and at the same time I need to analyse the requirements and go through documents and give trainings to end-users. Why so? Our company just happen to has no System Analyst and they are not planning to hire anyone for that position too. That’s why I think my job title would have “analyst” in front. And I have to OT if I can’t finish the project on time, and I would not be paid for that. Do you still think that I want to show off my position to you? Of course I’m not. LOL …
Well, though two projects have been put under maintenance by me, but currently my main duty is still crafting out and finalizing the mobile application for PDA phone. I’m taking the project over to do the enhancement and to make changes as well as beautifying the user interface and making each of the main functions into an individual application (the most difficult one). Until now I’m still trying out ways to do it, though I find it rather hard to split the existing application, which is only 1.19MB on a PDA phone, into 4 different application, I think I should say 5 including the main menu that act as a gateway to call up those 4 applications. I’m having a headache now which I think will turn me into a restless night with nightmare of doing programming until I faint on the table! Oh my god!
Of course I wish I can come out with what they want, but I also feel that what they want is not feasible at all! To speed up the loading speed of the application, then we need to split them into separate application? Wouldn’t that be slower? It’s hard to explain here in layman term, but I think for those who are also in this programming line using .NET technologies and languages, I’m sure you will understand what I’m trying to say. Oh my god, .NET Compact Framework, you are so compact yet so limited! I want to cry~~~
But I hope to try my very best to complete this project and this will be a proof to the company that I’m a valuable asset to them. I can create value for myself as well as the company! I have too much things to learn but too little time to spare! Until I have no time to rest and no time to play game at all! OMG, I think I need sometime to at least enjoy myself on Go, my favourite board game which will teast my mind. Who knows I might get an idea on how to complete the project? Heaven knows, I guess
