I’ve applied for a 4-day leave on Monday, and I was in KL settling stuff and I cannot rest my mind by not bothering it at all. Well, that’s ok. I will handle it gracefully if I’m capable to do so. And I’ve been working on a barcode scanner running on Windows CE 5.0, the device name is Dolphin 7600 Mobile Computer.

Well, it is indeed a high-end barcode scanner which not only allow you to capture barcode, but also images, RF, and 2D barcode. I’m not amazed by the power of that machine. But I’m amazed by how the company willing to work out thier own API and release to developers for application development to be used on that particular device, the device is just like one of the latest PDA models, except that it can’t allow you to make call from it. But you can achieve or complete various tasks through it. It’s a waste that they only make it their barcode scanner, and I think they bought 5 units for the sake of that and assigned my company to develop an application based on their existing barcode scanning system, which is completely text-based!

Well, at least I have the experience to work with various latest technologies, in this case, I mean latest technology to me, not for the rest, to them, they could have plenty of experience or knowledge on that, but to me, it’s still quite new and I can tell you I was very excited and I work on it on a very fast pace and I hope I can have enough time to debug, conduct user test, and make some enhancements, before I release it back to customer.

I have worked out a user manual as well which I intend to make it into a PDF document too. I hope that the final version is fine. I don’t find any difficulties in using the device with the application, thus, the user manual is meant to be an easy-to-understand booklet, and in fact, it is really simple and full of graphics. I hope that all my efforts would be appreciated.

Recently, all my projects are mobile application and I somehow sense that the boss in my department intended to make me a mobile application developer. It’s not uncommon to say like that, the reason why I would think in that way is mainly due to the fact that, whenever there is a mobile application development, I will be put in-charge for that project and most of the time I’m working on it alone, and of course the project scope is not as big as those normal application, but sometime the project can become really wide and not easily handle by one developer, I’m not that kind of person who likes to enjoy one-man show. This is not for me, I love teamwork and of course you feel great when you accomplished everything on your own, but don’t feel proud of yourself though, and do not because of that little achievements and start being proud and arrogrant. And not also snobbish!

I love to contribute back whenever possible if I have similar experience and are able to provide some guidelines or tips on the questions. I hate to see those questions remained unanswered, I want to help everyone, if I’m really that capable XD, I’m not a very good programmer/developer, but I wish I could be one, and able to help out the community! There are always many lost souls out there, of course, there are some people who are lazy to do their work and begging for solutions from other people. I won’t even bother to help this kind of people as I find it wasting my precious time. I could have use my time to help out those really needs my or other people’s helps.

Ok, enough of mumbling and nagging, I shall stop doing so now. I have some time to spare while settling the headache problem in this KL’s house, and I will find some time to study my Go and perhaps have a few games of Go if possible. Still trying to find the most suitable books for me learning of Go.

Allow me to throw a question to you, “Are you satisfied or happy today? Why and why not?” Go and ponder about it and tell me your answer =)
